Hi, I’m Candace Smith.
I help people like you who are struggling to feel better about themselves. Maybe you feel that you are not worthy of love, or you have conflicts in your relationships. You might have feelings of fear, uncertainty and doubt. Sometimes your feelings even get the best of you and you end up with shame and regret.
I have been helping people like you for over twenty years to build new skills and relationship patterns through DBT.
About Me.
I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and a Masters in Social Work from The University of Texas at Austin.
I did my clinical internship at St. David’s Pavilion in Austin, where I ran group therapy sessions for those with drug and alcohol addictions.
I worked at Seton Shoal Creek Hospital for several years as a therapist for the Adolescent and Family Intensive Outpatient Program.
I completed the official Dialectical Behavior Therapy Training through Behavior Tech in 2006.
I began my private practice in 2006, specializing in DBT for adolescents and adults.
